Cathy M. Andrew, L.Ac., MAcOM, Dipl. NCCAOM

Cathy obtained her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in 2012 from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) where she continues to mentor students in Oriental Medical Research III.
After Graduating she traveled to Seoul, South Korea for clinical studies at Kyung Hee University’s Korean Medical hospital. Cathy saw first hand how an integration of both Western and Oriental medicine most benefits the patient.
When she returned from Seoul, she attended Marylhurst University and earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis on Neuropsychology and Gerontology.
Other studies include Tai Qi sword and the art of Chinese Calligraphy at California State University. She has also studied Qigong and is currently a student at Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School Self-Cultivation and Teacher Training with Master Liu He and Dr. Liu Dong.
Cathy retells two compelling stories which helped shape her desire for becoming an Acupuncturist and Traditional Medicine Practitioner. At four years of age her grandmother shared with her the herbal secrets passed down by her family’s long line of herbalists. She fell in love with the natural world and has since had many wonderful herbal teachers.
As an adult she was told she couldn’t have children but Dr. Zhou introduced her to Medical Qigong and put together herbal formulas for her that later proved the original diagnosis wrong. She has three children.
Cathy’s goal is, through compassionate acupuncture treatments, to provide the most effective healing for her patients. Her main interests are in the treatment of Women’s health, Autoimmune conditions, Neurological disorders, sleep disorders, and emotional health. She is very excited about being offered the opportunity to practice alongside Dr. Olga Smith Dongvillo at The Greater Health Clinic in Estacada and getting to know the community and future patients.
She will be practicing Mondays 9:30-2:30, Wed by appointment, and alternate Thursdays and Fridays from 10-6.
